Descriptive Paragraph

The Riverside Park plays a big part in the lives of the citizens of Batesville, Arkansas. On one side of the White River, there is the beautiful sandbar where you can take long, peaceful walks. On the other side, Riverside Park stands tall, with its playground for young children and the huge gazebo for the many celebrations held there. Between the two sides lies the dam, with water flowing down it. All around, you can smell the delicious steak cooking at "Josie's". You can hear the band playing during all the festivities that happen year-round and the water smashing into the rocks in the river. You can feel the cool air near the water and the mist thrown into the air by the dam. Riverside Park is a truly beautiful place.

Advertisment Analysis

This is an advertisement for DentaStix, and it is a picture of a dog holding its tongue out and a bird lying in its cage, appearing to be dead. The ad uses tone and purpose to emphasize the need to buy DentaStix to cure your dog's bad breath.
The tone of the ad is humor. The bird, posed in a dramatic way, has a very comical death. Its feathers are ruffled and its beak is open to give it a cartoonish appearance. The ad uses exaggeration to be funny, and it exaggerates the power of the dog's bad breath by saying it killed the bird.
The purpose of the ad is to entertain the viewer to associate DentaStix with positive feelings in their mind. They made the ad funny and lighthearted, so it would make the people who see it happy.
The tone and the purpose are two very big parts of this advertisement.
